Oster HSC Musical Presents: The Lion King Jr.
Oster HSC Musical is excited to announce The Lion King Jr. for 3rd–5th graders!
This is a fantastic opportunity for young performers to be part of an unforgettable production.

Rehearsal Days/Times:
Tuesdays & Fridays: 2:45 PM – 4:15 PM
Mandatory Tech Rehearsals:
April 6, 7, and 8 from 2:45 PM – 6:45 PM
Mandatory Performance Dates:
April 9 and 10, 2026
Volunteer Hours: 4 hours (2 slots) per family
All rehearsals and performances will be held at Oster.
If you have 2-3 kids in the musical, the requirement is still 4 hours (2 slots) per family, not per student.
You can opt out of the 4-hour requirement for a fee of $80. All volunteer roles require participants to be 12 or older.

Rehearsal Tech Week: April 6th, 7th, and 8th (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday)
Assist the director with managing children and keeping them focused on their assigned tasks. These long rehearsals will require 2 different shifts. You can take both 2:45 and 4:30 on a given day to complete your two volunteer jobs.

Concessions: April 9th & April 10th (Thursday & Friday)
Help sell flowers and snacks and other items before the show begins.

Backstage/Costumes: April 9th & April 10th (Thursday & Friday)
These parent helpers help get students from the costume room to backstage and help things run smoothly. It’s good to choose the show your child is NOT in so you can watch their show.

Event Videographer: April 9th & April 10th (Thursday & Friday)

Do you have experience with videography and a good camera and mic? Or perhaps a new iPhone you are willing to record on? You can help us record the show.
Record the production on 4/9, at 5PM and 8PM, with one volunteer assigned to each time slot.
Event Photographer: April 9th & April 10th (Thursday & Friday)
5pm & 8pm slots
Do you have a DSLR and a zoom lens? Help us get some great photos for the yearbook.
Take photos on 4/9 at 5PM and 8PM, with one volunteer assigned to each time slot.
Snack Volunteer: April 6th, 7th, and 8th (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday)

Purchase and bring snacks for 60 students, and check in to see if anyone needs assistance during tech week.
Playbill Program Volunteer - 1 volunteer (must commit at least 2 weeks prior to the show) with flexible dates and times.
Design the program for parents and students using the The Lion King Jr. logo and all the students names and roles. Then get it printed in color. This is considered 2 jobs and can fulfill your 4 hour requirement. Sign up for both slots if you plan to do the whole thing on your own.
Load-In Volunteer: Monday morning, April 6th
The times are TBD, depending on what works with the school. Last year, we did 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Does that time work for you/the school?
Should be comfortable using a drill and lifting 20-40 lbs (assisted)!
Load-Out Volunteer: Friday, April 10th, following the last show (9pm – 11p.m.)

Photo Wall Volunteer: Creating a photo wall featuring kids' faces, names, and roles using provided photos, with flexible dates and times. This task can be completed on your own schedule but should be put up on Wednesday or Thursday before the show. The date and time are up to you. Please coordinate with Kerry and any other available volunteers.
